Jan Wolkers (1925-2007), typed manuscript of 'De Walgvogel', given to Joost de Wit, director of 'Stichting ter Bevoordering van Vertaling van Nederlands Werk', ca. 1973. 264 Pages, each typed to one side, annotated throughout. Extremely rare to find an original typed manuscript of Jan Wolkers as it is known that Wolkers cherished his manuscripts. As he refused to send his work to the publishers, he would call and make an appointment to bring a manuscript and then to pick it up again later in the day. Publishers would have to read the work in a very short time frame. Only recently four manuscripts were found behind a wall in the house that Wolkers and his wife lived in on Texel. These works were acquired by the Universiteits Bibliotheek Leiden and added to the Wolkersarchief. The manuscript offered here will provide great insight to the work 'De Walgvogel' when comparing material held in the Wolkersarchief!
