Swatch: The Collection by Hans van Buuren

March 2023 marked 40 years since the official launch of the Swatch (Swiss watch). Which was less than six Months after August 1982, the unofficial test launch on the US market. For a plagued Swiss watchmaking industry Swatch meant no less than salvation. The rest is history.

Right from the start Swatch worked with innovative engineers and great artists to get designs people love and want.Many Swatches have become true collectables and can command considerable prizes. Some, like the launch Swatch Original Jelly, in five-digit numbers.

This collection is the home of Swatches designed by over 150 artists, with art from the likes of Keith Haring, Mimmo Paladino, Kiki Picasso and Arnaldo Pomodoro: definitely not for the faint of heart.

It took me thirty years of hard labour and loads of fun to build it up.
Who I am? I am Hans van Buuren.
Retired Swatch collector, Swatch connoisseur,
Swatch writer, Swatch advisor, Swatch Club Pioneer Member and above all Swatch lover and friend.
