United States. Colt Pocket Model 1849 .31 Caliber percussion revolver. The barrel marked ‘ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY’ in two lines, indicating early production. Stamped on the frame ‘COLT PATENT’. The cylinder is engraved with the cartouche ‘COLTS PATENT No 158499’. Several inspector’s marks; L and M. Serial number 158499. Circa 1859.
