United States. Colt Army Model 1860 Army .44 Caliber percussion revolver. The barrel marked ‘ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA’. The cylinder is engraved with a naval scene and the cartouche ‘COLTS PATENT No 8503’ and ‘PAT. SEPT. 10th 1850’. Several inspector’s marks K. Serial number 8503, indicating 1860 as production year, the first year of production of the 1860 Army.
