A Japanese rectagular lacquer box, the cover decorated with mandarin ducks in gold swimming in a pond with sprays of flowers along the side all against a light red ground, the sides decorated with sprays of flowers in gold against a black ground, old label to the interior of the cover: 'Specially made in the Nishimura workshop at Kyoto by the artist Sagawa.
