England, first half XVIIth century - cylindrical box for reckoning counters decorated with engravings - on the lid a medallion with the bust to the right of Charles I with legend CAROLVUS D G MAG BRIT FRA ET HIB REX surrounded by a decorative border with leaf tendrils and small animal figures - on the side four medallions with stars and solomon stars - on the botom a female bust to the left with legend MARIA D G MAG B(..) HIB REGINA also within a ornamented border - gold-plated silver 38 x 27 mm 23.68 gram - bottom and lid rather worn - very rare
