Leiden ND (ca.1700) - Medal 'Promotiepenning met de kap' struck in tin, by J. Drapentier (Hofstee- cp.93, vLoon- cp.198) - Obv. Minerva holding bonnet on pillow, cartouche beneath without angels haed / Rev. Lion left holding sword and crowned Leiden coat of arms, cartouche beneath signed 'IO DRAP'- tin 43 mm 35,94 gram, removed suspension loop - aXF, small tin pimpels - NB Not included in the normal reference literature; in tin auctioned before (Schulman Auction 346-1731); the dies (present in Museum Lakenhal) seem to have been used for gold medals: a Rijksmuseum print (RP-P-1905-5294) shows this type awarded to D. van Alphen on December 13th, 1735.
