Four lines of text OBIIT / CORNELIS / LANTSCHOT / A° 1656 - brass 32 mm 17.62 gram - VF - rare - NB The Antwerp merchant Cornelis Lantschot (1572-1656) had a chapel built and a fund for the poor established in his will. A memorial mass would be held for him four times a year in St Jacob's Church. The poor who came there to pray for his soul received a penny for which bread could be obtained
