Blank for inscription - gold 33 mm 28,97 gram - XF - Punched inscription "PETRO HOFSTEDE DE GROOT IN CERTAMINE LITERARIO ERUDITIORIS JUVENTUTIS BELGICAE VICTORI DOCTRINAE PRAEMIUM MDCCCXXV" - very rare - NB This prize medal, established by Koninklijk besluit van 2 augustus 1815, was awarded until 1843. Petrus Hofstede de Groot (1802–1886), later a well-known theologian, enrolled at the University of Groningen in 1819, first in literature and then in theology, and obtained his doctorate at the end of 1826. He received the prize medal on Friday 25 March 1825. It is not known why he received the Utrecht medal, being a candidate student in Groningen at that time
