Gouden Dukaat 1673 Piedfort with upward edge lettering D:GEDACHTENIS:V:D:MVNTE:V:AMSTERDAM on the weight of 3 Ducats (Delm. 779 (R3) / HPM Am 09.2 / CNM 2.02.23 / De Beeldenaar 2011 no. 1 p.5) - 12.61 gram - Obv. Knight with sword and bundle of arrows / Rev. Ornamented tablet above arms of Amsterdam - UNC - Usual break in edge lettering at 12 o' clock - Extremely rare - During the disaster yera of 1672 the mint for Holland was briefly moved to Amsterdam as a precaution. These ducats, produced using a milling press, were likely struck by Adolphi in commemoration of this brief event.
