Tin/lead pitis (0.80 g.; 22.75 mm.), Netcher/v.d. Chijs, p.154-155; Millies: p. 42-55; Plate XV-118 This type of pitjes were cast in accordance of a treaty between the VOC and the three Sultans of Cheribon, dated 8 September 1688. Later when the qualified pitjes-makers (Raksa Negara & Sura di Nata) had passed away, the minting-rights were farmed out to Chinese for 200 Rixdaaalders annually, which amount was not increased in subsequent agreements of 2 April 1715, 29 April 1720, 1 September 1744 and 18 January 1752.
