AE Baluba or Katanga cross, locally known as Handa, used ca. 19e-20e century as medium of exchange, diagonal sizes 20.5 x 20.5 cm. , weight: 560 g. - Baluba was the name of the tribe of people who melted the copper in the Katanga Region. The copper in these crosses was African and very red in color (Opitz p.124) - g.VF. Added Belgium 1977 set and a small decoration and Liberia 1978 proof set
