A fine early 18th century British silver verge pocket watch, both the dial and fusee movement signed ‘Wm. Field, London’ for William Field. Field was a watchmaker who operated from 1725 and was a member of the ‘Clockmakers Company’ between 1733-1763. Very nice quality movement and an unusual style of foot to the balance cock. Bears a silver champlevé dial, Roman numerals and outer Arabic arcaded chapter, bronze hour and minute hands, date aperture, and bulls-eye glass. A piece of history and early fine watchmaking. Comes with two winding keys. Should be viewed in person –D. 53 mm, signs of wear–
