The name is derived from the Javanese words Loro, which means 2, and Blonyo, which means makeup. The woman symbolizes the goddess of fertility, while the man represents the realization of the god Vishnu. Together, the two sculptures are viewed as a single sculpture and symbolize fertility and prosperity.
