Violin bow from the workshop of Joannes Finkel, violin bowmaker of Brienz, Switzerland. Stamped 'Lefin' to one side, illegible stamp to the other side. Pernambuco wood stick, ebony frog, silver ferrule, winding and tip plate. Length: 73,4 cm, Weight: 61,73 grams. Johannes Siegfried Finkel was born in Markneukirchen in 1947. At 17 years old, he began a bow-making apprenticeship with his father, Seigfred Finkel. After three years he moved to London to work for J & A Beare in London. Finkel also worked for William Moening and Hans Weisshaar, before taking over his father’s workshop in 1984. Comes with certificate of authentication by Lambert Houniet, master violinmaker, dated 17 November 2021
