A Japanese cup in the style of Frederic van Frytom, decorated in underglaze blue depicting a European landscape scene with a horseman followed by two footmen. An identical cup can be found in Burghley House, Stamford England and was published in 'The Burghley Porcelains: An Exhibition from the Burghley House Collection and Based on the 1688 Inventory and 1690 Devonshire Schedule', Japan Society, New York, 1986, page 170-171, no. 61 (the Burghley House collection). Another cup is in the Groninger Museum, Groningen as mentioned in C.J.A.
