Netherlands - 1935 - Medal '100 jaar Nederlandse Edelmetaalnijverheid' by F. Hoevenagel (Begeer 879) - Obv. Smith in foundry / Rev. 100 JAREN NEDERLANDSCHE EDELMETAAL NIJVERHEID 1835-1935 - AR Silver 65 mm, 138.85 gram - nicely toned - XF - Rare in silver, never sold by us before in this metal.

Netherlands - Willem I - Cent 1822 Utrecht (Sch. 326) with curious overstriking on the reverse! Crowned French (?) eagle with spread wings in solid circle, around OCTROI D'AMSTERDAM / D.R. - unpublished in the standard literature - highly curious! - The collection Stephanik contained one example of this unknown overstriking, which together with 5 Belgian-overstruck Willem I centen sold for 35 Guilders, which might have been this exact example. Only one other auction appearance could be confirmed (Theod. Bom 1889). Possibly used to test new machinery or in button-manufacture?
