18th century, Beautiful French hunting short sword, with high quality carved ivory hilt and pommel carved to resemble a human head, with garnet gemstone eyes, silver handguard, full fuller blade engraved with sun and moon icons, black leather scabbard with floral design and silver fittings, the silver parts are all hallmarked with Paris hallmark used between 1768-1774, dating the sword to that era, blade shows age but no damages, ivory hilt not cracked or damaged, overall excellent example, with Cites certificate
