1828 Cased pair of early Percussion duelling pistols, in original case with brass presentation plaque, three-way powder flask, percussion cap tin, oiler, cleaning, screwdriver and nipple wrench, Damask Barrel, Signed 'Robert Wheeler & Son Birmingham, the plaque says "John Slinn, from the Earl of Denbigh, to commemorate his bravery on the night of the 22nd of Dec. 1828, when he was dangerously wounded", this event was an attack by a group of poachers, who where caught, by the game keeper, and they shot him, interesting articles to be found online about this event, In near mint condition
