Japan, 18th/19th century, Meiji period (1868-1912), "Samurai" spear called Yari, a san-kaku (triangular shaped) iron spearhead with a hi (engraved line), hamon not visible, tang is unsigned (mumei) with one mekugi-ana, the wooden shaft partly decorated with aogai (mother of pearl), total length: 208 cm, shows signs of wear on the mother of pearl decoration, otherwise nice example without defects
