Japan, 18th/19th century (Edo period), 32-plate Kabuto "Samurai" helmet, the sujibachi constructed of 32 black lacquered plates is surmounted by a four-tiered bronze tehen no kanamono (decorative apex fitting), the mabizashi (visor) lacquered black with a slightly raised rim, a gold lacquer kamon of two ‘sugi’ (ceder trees) on the fukigaeshi and a four-lame shikoro (neck guard) tied with dark blue and orange lacing, Height: 28 cm, Width: 35 cm, very nice and decorative piece of history
