A Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze figure of Palden Lhamo, 18th/19th century.
The fierce goddess seated sideways on a flayed skin atop a mule, over a rocky oval base incised with wave patterns, the left arm held up in mudra, the right holding a filled cup. The mule stands on a mountain base decorated with bones, limbs and scull amidst waves on the upper surface. Signs of wear to the gilding, right front leg of the mule restored, base and plate under the mule plate missing. Provenance: private collection, the Netherlands. -16 x 14 cm-
