Provinciale 1 Gulden 1793 Holland with oval countermark “Sumaneb” (v.d.Wis B 15) assigned to Sumanep, host coin VF, countermark EF Extremely rare countermark. \nIn the 18th and first part of the 19th century, various coins have been countermarked by the Sultanate of Sumenep on the isle of Madura to the east of Java. The most rarest of this is the countermark "Sumeneb" in Malay-Arabic within an oval. Several later imitations are known of this countermark, which read as “Bandjar”.
