The additional symbol on this coin is a fire-altar symbol in front of the king's face. (Similar to BMC pl. VII, 13+, Bayana Hoard pl. XI, 3) (Num.Digest, vol.40, Pankaj Tandon (pp. 67-77); ZENO197589) - XF Such a coins with an additional symbol in front of the king's face exists in heavier weight standard of 8.5 g. Because of the weight and stylistic features, it has been attributed to Chandragupta III by many scholars. (See Ellen Raven, Gupta Gold coins with Garuda Banner, p.317). The style of the coin show that this must be a product of a later Chandragupta, much later than the great Chandragupta II
