Airplain flying over map - copper/bronze 54 mm - aXF - NB The reverse inscription reads 'In commemoration of the China incident - 12 th year of Showa'; the cities named on the map are Tianjin, Beiping, Cangzhou, Baoding, Datong and Zhangjiakou; the spelling of Beiping (on October 2 1937 renamed Beijing) suggests that the medal was designed between July and October 1937 [with acknowledgement to Laosa]
