Scipio Asiagenus - AR Denarius (Rome 106 BC, 3.67 g) - Laureate head of Jupiter left, A and pellet in right field / L SCIP ASIAG in exergue, Jupiter, holding sceptre and reins, and hurling thunderbolt, driving galloping quadriga right (Cr. 311/1a, Syd. 576) - VF, the reverse records the decisive victory over Antiochos III of Syria in 190 BC by the moneyer's ancestor, L. Cornelius Scipio, at the Battle of Magnesia.
