Very rare set of 1936 Vittorio Emanuele III with the coins of 1936 Anno XIV, struck at the Rome mint. This complete set in a blue leather box with gold designs, crowned monogram and yellow velvet interior contains of 11 coins: 5 Centesimi Bronze (KM73, Gig.284) mintage 4.998.000 pcs.; 10 Centesimi Bronze (KM74, Gig.247) mintage 8.195.000 pcs.; 20 Centesimi Nickel (KM75, Gig.217/R2) mintage 117.000 pcs., 50 Centesimi Nickel (KM76, Gig.182/ Rev:) mintage 118.000 pcs.; 1 Lira Nickel (KM77, Gig.153/ Rev:) mintage 119.000 pcs.; 2 Lire Nickel (KM78, Gig.118/ Rev:) mintage 120.000 pcs.; 5 Lire Silver (KM79, Gig.83) mintage 1.016.000 pcs.; 10 Lire Silver (KM80, Gig.64) mintage 618.500 pcs.; 20 Lire Silver (KM81, Gig.45/ Rev:) mintage 10.000 pcs.; 50 Lire Gold (KM82, Gig.24/R2, Pag.661, Fr.37) mintage 790 pcs. & 100 Lire Gold (KM83, Gig.13/R4, Pag.650, Fr.35) mintage 812 pcs. The 50 & 100 Lire, together with the lower values with the date of 1936 Anno XIV, were issued on the occasion of the celebration of the empire. Struck following the conquest of Ethiopia, they highlight the expanding Italian influence prior to the outbreak of World War II and represent one of the last gold issues the Fascist regime. The 2 gold pieces are very rare, with small mintage of 790 & 812 pieces. When they are offered at auction, they are normally sold as single pieces and very rarely as a pair. Now there is the possibly unique opportunity to acquire this complete set, a legendary rarity in the Italian series, together with the beautiful and very rare box.
