Phrygia / Laodicea ad Lycum - AE15 (ca. 5 BC, Gaius Caesar (grandson of Augustus), 2.84 g) - Antonius Polemon, magistrate - ΓΑΙΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ Bare head right / ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΩΝ below eagle with wings spread standing between two monograms (RPC I 2900 / SNG Copenhagen 557) - a.VF. Caius was the Grandson of Augustus. Rare early Imperial portrait. Gaius and his brother Lucius were destined to become the heirs of their grandfather but they died young.
