Cyrenaica / Cyrene - AR Drachm (AD 100, 3.39 g) - Laureate head of Trajan right / Horned head of Zeus–Ammon right (Weiser 145 / Sydenham, Caesarea 176) - a.XF, lightly toned, rare and attractive for issue, good portraits. The syncretic god Zeus Ammon, depicted on the reverse of this coin, combines the Greek Zeus with the Egyptian god-king Ammon-Ra, who was often depicted in Egyptian art with a ram's head. This god was the patron saint of Cyrene.
