Sidon - Evagoras II of Salamis (ca. 345-342 BC) - AR Double Shekel (22.50 g) - War galley under way to left over zig-zag waves, traces of eight-rayed star over deck near stern; Dated Ry. 1 (345/342 BC) / King of Persia in chariot with driver, king of Sidon walking behind in Egyptian dress holding scepter; Phoenician ayin ayin (OO) before - General feature aVF but with black patina, slightly lighter in weight and brittle on the edges. The provenance of the coins with these features can be traced back to the Mir Zakah II hoard (Mitchiner, Ancient Trade, #1283; ZENO 270790)
