Madame Henry: A bronze sculpture of a nude female carrying a dish of fruit, mounted on a octagonal marble base, signed 'Henry' and 'Schumacher' (foundry), Germany, ca. 1900 -total h. 56 cm, without base: 43 cm- The Schumacher foundry was based in Osterode, Germany from 1887 to 1929. Reference: Thieme/Becker 'Allgemeines Lexikon der bildenden Künstler von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart (Lexicon of artists from antiquity to the present, volume 15/16, page 422: Mrs. Henry, born in Paris, daughter and pupil of (sculptor and medalist) Francois Augustin Caunois . She was represented in 1865, 1870 and 1880 at the Paris Salon with portraits in marble and bronze.
