Netherlands East Indies, AR ducaton (32.46 g.), Zeeland 1792, with anonymous transitional shield-like c/m with a lily-cross and c/m in the shape of a pointed oval with a flower design, attributed to the sultanate of Sumanep on the isle of Madura to the east of Java. (cf. ZENO 26585/26589; KM 57.2; v/d Wis E 53/55), This transitional pear-shape form of the c/m may be dated to the second half of the 18th century and similar to the lily-cross type c/m applied on large silver pieces, like Ducatons, Maria-Theresia-talers and milled Spanish Eight-real pieces. The pointed oval type c/m, is generaly only applied on Rupee-size coins, Dutch ‘Generaliteits’-guilders, Quarter pagoda of British India and Spanish 4 real. This transitional form of the c/m has only been observed on a ½ ducaton of the same date and province - traces of mounting - Host coin a.VF, c/m gVF - rare
