Duit 1660 over 1659 overstruck on a Frisian oord (PW 7205 / CNM 2.30.82) - 3.93 grams - Obv. City arms within wreath / Rev. CAM/PEN/1660 - aVF - Rare with hints of undertype visible - In Kampen, the mintmaster was known for buying old scrap copper and utilizing it as the raw material in striking the copper coinage of the city. Frisian oords became renowned for their poor copper-content towards the middle of the 17th century, before their production was halted in the mid-1660's, likely the reason this oord ended up being overstruck. While more heavy duiten of Kampen around this weight are known, likely also being overstruck on similar oorden, to our knowledge this is the first piece clearly showing the undertype that has come to light - Ex. Collection Vinkenborg, bought J. Schulman 1966
