Seven Chinese porcelain dishes decorated in underglaze blue with a scene of 'The Sense of Smell' depicting two European ladies each smelling a flower with their attendants behind them holding a basket filled with more flowers, the rim with floral sprays, the reverse with three floral sprays to the rim and an artemisia leaf within a double blue circle to the base. The scene derives from an engraving by the French engraver Henry II Bonart (1642-1711) and was a popular theme in the late 17th century. China, Kangxi period (1662-1722) -D. 15,5 cm; three in perfect condition, one with a chip and related hairline crack, three with one to three rim chips-
