Interesting grouping of Belgian RAF pilot "Christian Deffontaine, 1915-1942+", son of "General, Georges Deffontaine", Christian was a Belgian pilot who escaped to England in 1940, and started flying in the Royal Airforce, as part of the Free Belgian forces against the Axis forces, he unfortunately went MIA during a flight to Egypt over the Mediterranean sea in 1942, and was never recovered, the grouping consists of: various photos, letters and documents all pre WWII when he was part of the army, a postwar history book covering part of his story, interesting grouping of a Belgian war hero
