Early 1900's, Officers dagger of the Russian Imperial Navy, modeled after the M1914 dagger but larger in dimension then the standard issue ones, with quadrangular blade, bone handle, scabbard with brass fittings, engraved with 'Rodionov', which is most certainly attributed to Lieutenant "Nikolai Nikolaevich Rodionov (1886-1962)", senior lieutenant of the Guards Crew, onboard of the Imperial yacht "Shtandard" (Штандарт) and later promoted to Captain 2nd rank, (at the end of January 1917, assistant commander for combat training of the Guards Crew battery), he was the favorite officer of "Princess Tatiana Romanova" and very loyal to the family, during the coup against the Romanov empire he was one of the few sailors who remained loyal to his oath to the emperor and took part in the defence of the Alexander Palace, he escaped to live in exile in France, where he died in 1962 near Paris, dagger is in used but very good condition, and a rare surviving example from the Romanov dynasty, lenght: 48cm
