Very interesting lot containing a Platinum 3 Roubles 1844 St. Petersburg, a rare Platinum 12 Roubles 1832 St. Petersburg and a extremely rare Gold 10 Roubles 1757. These 3 coins were send in the spring of 2016 to NGC and PCGS to be slabbed together with a series of rare commemorative Russian silver Roubles. The silver coins have all been slabbed, but the gold and platinum coins came back as ‘not genuine’ and/or ‘authenticity unverifiable’. The opinions on these judgements are divided, some Russian experts think some of the mentioned coins might be genuine after all. Due to the judgement of NGC/PCGS, we are putting these coins up for auction as restrikes in one lot with a starting price below the gold- and platinum value.
